Cutting Board Care Instructions

Welcome to our Cutting Board Care Instructions page. Proper maintenance is essential to prolong the life of your cutting board and ensure optimal performance. Follow our tips and guidelines to keep your cutting board in top condition.

Cleaning and Maintenance

To clean your cutting board, simply wash it with warm, soapy water after each use. Avoid soaking the board or putting it in the dishwasher, as this can cause warping. Periodically oil your cutting board with 100 % food grade safe mineral oil to maintain its finish and prevent drying out. If you prefer other options, there is Walrus Oil, Butcher Block Oil, or Tung Oil.

Avoiding Damage

To prevent damage to your cutting board, avoid cutting extremely hard or frozen foods directly on the board. Use a separate board for raw meats to prevent cross-contamination. Always use a sharp knife to minimize wear and tear on the board.

Storage and Care Tips

Store your cutting board in a dry, well-ventilated area to prevent mold and bacteria growth. Also, you can lightly spray vinegar to clean your board. Stand or hang the board upright to allow air circulation. If your board develops deep cuts or scratches, sand it lightly to restore its smooth surface.

Additional Tips

Regularly inspect your cutting board for signs of wear and tear. Replace the board if it becomes excessively worn or damaged. With proper care and maintenance, your cutting board can last for years to come.
